2003-2005

Urban segregation and models of social cohabitation (2003-2005), jointly with Edmond Préteceille. This research project takes a closer look at social divisions in the city, their effects on public utilities, and especially on relations between social groups. Using socio-statistical research, we study the changing forms of social segregation in the Paris-Ile de France region, and using qualitative strategies we also study the relations between social groups. We particularly look at urban spaces where the middle classes cohabit with other social classes (especially the lower). Our objective is to articulate the social composition of urban space, their models of cohabitation between social groups, and the subjective representations that characterize them.
